Local 16 Apprenticeship and Training
Here are a few photos taken while graders from the Union and Contractors Association are grading Mechanics Tests.
When the insulation apprentices have their 5-year learning period completed, they are assigned a work project on some of the mock-ups in
the training facility which are then reviewed and graded as to whether or not they meet the required industry standards. Additionally, they also must pass a written examination.
In order to determine passing or failing grades, the completed projects may be opened up, the covers removed and layers broken into, thereby checking quality and workmanship all the way through.
